Qur'an and Scrolls - Prophet Muhammad’s Letter to Jafar and Abd, kings of Oman

Islamic Museum - Muscat, Oman

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful:
From Muhammad, Servant and Messenger of Allah, to Jafar and Abd, sons of Jolonda:

Peace be upon him who is rightly guided. I invite you to adopt Islam: submit to Allah and you will be safe. You will be rewarded doubly by Allah. If you turn down this appeal, you will be responsible for the sins of all Omanis. Tell them:

“Oh People of the Scripture! Come to an agreement between us and you: that we shall worship none but Allah, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside Allah. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto Him).” [Surah 3:64]
