A particular variation of blue-white ceramics is assumed to have emerged in Kerman: using the sgraffito technique, scant patterns were incised into a thick blue glaze. The two medallions covered in arabesque decorations are the only ornaments of the bowl remarkably highlighted by the distinct color contrast. The few preserved objects of this ceramic category stand out through their precise decorations. It is believed that the blue background represents the sky.
